A tribute to Felecia from her loved ones.

Felecia was a loving mum, sister, aunt, wife and friend.

Felecia retired as a Senior Probation in February 2023, after many years of service. Not long after her retirement, she was diagnosed with a rare blood cancer, called Chronic Myeloid Leukaemia. Her only cure was a stem cell transplant. The same year, she received the news that she had a stem cell  donor from North America, through the Anthony Nolan Trust. The match was 100%. However, she needed to have her white blood cells at a certain level, for her to start the process of the stem cell transplant.

Felecia's treatment was gruelling, intense and demanding and she was constantly at the hospital. This would either be for chemotherapy, blood transfusions or platelets . Felecia showed so much determination and courage, as she hoped she would be in a better place with health. She had plans to enjoy her retirement with family and friends, and tried to remain positive throughout her treatment. Unfortunately, the cancer progressed to Acute Myeloid Leukaemia and her health deteriorated rapidly. Doctors and nurses did all they could, sadly on the 3rd June 2024, Felecia passed away with close family members by her side.

Felecia was one of the most generous person I knew. She was always willing to listen and help others in the best way she could.

Felecia will be missed terribly. May she rest in peace.
